In 2019, the SSHA has proposed a new structure for Junior team training that focuses both on player and coach development on a consistent basis for Clubs that wish to participate.
The program will also give a more consistent access to players from participating Clubs to the Regional Coaching Coordinator. Bosco has had limited access to persons holding this position previously.
I believe that participation in this program is in the best interests of players and coaches for Bosco Hockey Club and will add to the development of players while also expanding the friendship group of players across all Clubs. Tartans and RSL have also committed to the program initially. Sharks and Sutherland may have players participating at different times.
Participation in this program requires a change to the day and time of junior hockey training. The program will be run at Marang Hockey Fields on a Tuesday afternoon, commencing on March 19th at the following times:
TUESDAY PM
Session 1 SSHA Association Competition Teams
Field 1/ U9's 4:30-5:30pm
Field 2/ U11's 4:30-5:30pm
Session 2 SSHA Association Competition Teams

Field 2/ U15's & U18's 5:30-7pm
The program to be delivered is split into a number of blocks that focus on different skills, from the basics through to advanced skills.

I appreciate that the change in day of the week and location of training may cause some logistical challenges for some families, however as I have said, I believe that participation in this program is in the best interests of players and coaches from Bosco Hockey Club. A number of players from the Club live in the Engadine area and there may be an opportunity for players to carpool to make it to training.
I look forward to seeing you in 2019.
